Inside the collections

What you will find in each subject

Finance & Money

Money talk that understands RRSPs, TFSAs and CRA rules

Most finance podcasts assume U.S. accounts and tax law. These Canadian shows cover the accounts, mortgages and benefits you will actually use, from first budget to retirement income.

Podcasts are informational and are not a substitute for advice from a qualified professional.

Beyond the highlight reel

Hockey is here, of course, alongside curling, running, soccer and the athletes who rarely get a national broadcast. Choose a team show for daily reaction or an athlete-led series for the story behind the result.

Style and business, seen up close

Fashion and entrepreneurship podcasts are easier to choose once you decide between industry analysis and personal stories. Here is how the two collections are organized.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Is Spoke a podcast app or a podcast host?

No. Spoke is a discovery website. We describe podcasts and send you to each show’s official website or official YouTube channel, where you can listen, watch or subscribe in the app you already use. We do not host audio files or produce the shows listed here.

Are the podcasts on Spoke all Canadian?

Most of them are. 41 of the 63 listings are made in Canada or co-hosted by Canadians. Where a subject needs broader coverage, we include English-language shows from the United States, the United Kingdom and Australia and label the country on every card.

Do podcasts pay to appear on Spoke?

Editorial listings are free and are chosen using the criteria in our selection and sponsorship policy. Podcasters can also buy clearly labelled sponsored placements. None of the current listings is sponsored, so you will not see a “Sponsored” label on any card today.

Why do some cards say “Watch on YouTube”?

When a show does not have an independent website, we link to its official YouTube channel instead. Buttons are labelled by destination: “Visit podcast website” opens the show’s site and “Watch on YouTube” opens its channel.

Can I suggest a podcast?

Yes. Email [email protected] with the show name and its official website. Suggestions are reviewed against the same criteria as every other listing, and a suggestion does not guarantee inclusion.

Does Spoke track me or use cookies?

This website has no analytics, advertising trackers, sign-up forms or cookies set by Spoke. Artwork and photos load from third-party servers, which receive standard technical information such as your IP address. Details are in our Privacy Policy.
