A clearer way to choose what to listen to
There are millions of podcasts and very little help choosing between them. Spoke is a small, curated discovery website for English-speaking listeners in Canada, organized by subject and written to help you compare shows before you press play.

Why Spoke exists
Podcast apps are built to play episodes, not to explain what a show is about. Their charts reward size, and their recommendations tend to repeat what you already follow. Finding a good Canadian show about RRSPs, curling or Indigenous storytelling usually means searching by luck.
Spoke takes a different approach. We group podcasts into six subjects, write a short, specific description of each one, show the host and country of origin, and send you straight to the show’s official website or YouTube channel.
The name comes from the six spokes of our logo: one for each subject, all meeting at the same hub.

Listeners in Canada
People who want shows that understand Canadian institutions, places and rules, and who appreciate knowing when a podcast comes from elsewhere.
People new to podcasts
Anyone who wants a short, honest description and a direct link rather than an algorithm’s best guess.
Curious regular listeners
Listeners who already have favourites and want to branch out into a new subject without wading through charts.

Independent and established shows looking for listeners who care about their subject, through editorial inclusion or clearly labelled promotion.

How discovery works on Spoke
- Subjects, not rankingsCollections are organized by topic. We do not publish “top” lists, download figures or popularity claims.
- Canadian creators first41 of 63 listings are made in Canada or co-hosted by Canadians. International shows are labelled by country.
- Official destinations onlyButtons go to each show’s own website or official YouTube channel, not to aggregator apps.
- Promotion is labelledPaid placements, when they exist, carry a visible “Sponsored” label and never replace the editorial criteria.
